Makcik PC’s opening ceremony was completed by YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Prime Minister of Malaysia. He told that Makcik PC is available throughout the promotion period with lowest price about RM560 per PC.

A device, currently developing that ought to help reduce the digital divide between the more tech savvy and affluent Malaysia and the more less tech savvy and rural Malaysia.

The MAK-CIK PC is being designed to be lightweight and mobile and to work with any TV. The device is also expected to be equipped with Wi-Fi (and soon WiMAX) capabilities to enable remote connectivity. It will also have built in flash memory instead of a large hard disk capacity to achieve the desired form factor and lightness.

At least, Malaysia has its own product. As Malaysian, I am tired of using other countries’ product. Malaysians have been good consumers but not good producers. What’s the point of being proud using hp, apple, compact, dell and etc. when all these are not being made by our people.
